❇️ Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark Hosts the Fourth Webinar on International Geodiversity Day 2026

🔷 The fourth webinar marking International Geodiversity Day 2026, organized under the coordination of the Iranian National Geoparks Network, will be hosted by Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark in cooperation with Payame Noor University, Tabas Center, on October 6, 2026. The webinar will bring together professors, researchers, and specialists from Iran and abroad in the fields of geology, geotourism, and geoparks.

🔹 According to the Public Relations Office of Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark, the fourth edition of this webinar aims to commemorate International Geodiversity Day and provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among experts and professionals working in the fields of geoparks and geoheritage.

🔹 According to the announced program, Dr. Alireza Amrikazemi, Executive Board Member of the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) and Chair of the Iranian National Geoparks Network, will be the first speaker. His presentation is entitled:

“Geodiversity, the Foundation of All Heritage: How Geology Shapes Biological and Cultural Heritage in UNESCO Global Geoparks”

🔹 Professor Artur Sa, Chair of the Global Geoparks Network, will also deliver a presentation entitled:

“Geoheritage at the Service of Society: From Protection to Participation”

🔹 The webinar will be held on October 6, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM (Iran time). Interested participants can join the event through the following link:

🔹 The fourth webinar on International Geodiversity Day will provide an opportunity to present and exchange scientific perspectives on the role of geodiversity in the conservation of natural and cultural heritage, as well as to explore the potential of geoparks for the development of geotourism and sustainable tourism.

🔹 Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark invites professors, researchers, students, tourism professionals, and everyone interested in geology and geoparks to participate in this event. The Geopark considers the participation of interested individuals an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience and to strengthen scientific cooperation between Iran’s UNESCO Global Geoparks and the country’s scientific community.
