The importance of the global registration of Tabas Geopark in a phone interview with the “Good Morning Iran” program

According to the Public Relations Office of Tabas UGGp, this morning, on 4 May, the director of Tabas UGGp spoke via phone call with the “Good Morning Iran” program on Channel One of IRIB about the importance of Tabas Geopark’s inscription in UNESCO’s Global Geoparks Network and the unique capacities of this region.

Dr. Vesal Yahya Sheibani, noting that Tabas UGGp is considered one of Iran’s valuable geological heritages, emphasized: “The global registration of this geopark not only helps to enhance international recognition of Tabas’s natural attractions and geotourism potential, but also paves the way for sustainable development, the creation of new job opportunities for local communities, the attraction of domestic and foreign tourists, and better protection of the region’s natural heritage.”

The director of Tabas UGGp added: “The remarkable diversity of geological phenomena, rich cultural and historical background, unique desert landscapes, and educational and research capacities have turned Tabas UGGp into one of the key destinations for scientific and nature-based tourism in Iran.”
