✳️Commemoration of International Mountain Day with a Geoconservation Event in the Shotori Mountain and Kal-e Sardar Geosites.
🔷On the occasion of International Mountain Day, the Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark, in cooperation with the Tabas Mountaineering and Sport Climbing department and the Komacho Mountaineering Group, organized a mountaineering event in the Shotori Mountain Geosite and the Kal-e Sardar Geosite.
🔷The event aimed to honor the value of mountain areas and raise public awareness of their vital role in environmental sustainability and regional water resources. During the program, participants hiked the mountainous routes and became familiar with the natural and geological features of these geosites.
🔷Furthermore, emphasizing social responsibility and the role of local communities in nature conservation, a cleanup operation was carried out along the river pathway and within the Kal-e Sardar Geosite with the participation of local mountaineers, collecting the litter left in the area.
🔷This event exemplified the connection between sport, community engagement, and the protection of geological and natural heritage, showing that mountains are not only places for climbing but also a shared responsibility for all of us.
