❇️ The sending textiles from Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark to Kutralkura UNESCO Global Geopark
🔶️ The director of the Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark announced the sending of two pieces of cloth produced by Tabasian artists, decorated with embroidery art, to the Kutralkura UNESCO Global Geopark in Chile.
🔶️ Dr. Shaibani said: The Global Geoparks Network invited member geoparks to participate in the Weaving Hope project, a project proposed by the Kutralkura UNESCO Global Geopark and the University of Temuco, Chile.
🔶️ The director of Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark stated that the goal of this project is to show the diversity of cultural heritage through the creation of textile pieces representing each UNESCO Global Geopark, and said that the submitted works will be exhibited at the 11th International Conference of UNESCO Global Geoparks in Chile.
🔶️ Regarding the work sent from Tabas to Chile, Dr. Sheibani said: The work sent was inspired by the natural and cultural elements of Tabas, which includes palm trees as a natural element of the Tabas desert region and a symbol of the mountains that beautifully display the history of the planet Earth over hundreds of millions of years in the Tabas region. It was woven with the embroidery art of Tabas’ female artists (Ms. Khadija Farahmand Kalateh Akhund, Tayyebeh Ahmadi, and Zeinab Rezazadeh) in cooperation with the Tabas Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department.
