Sorond village is located 90 km away from Tabas city in the heart of Shotori Mountains. It has displayed a different climate and nature from other parts of Tabas Geopark due to its mountainous location. Geosite of Sorond Badland is located in the southern margin of this village and formed in the Baghamshah marly formation with an age of Middle Jurassic (161-164 million years ago). The marl sediments of this geosite are formed in deep sea environments. In addition to this geosite, other attractions such as Moudar village, mountainous and high nature, medicinal plants, natural springs, rich wildlife, Jamal Peak, Kal-e-Mudar, and Senou Forest Habitat are among the most significant attractions nearby.
