Report of Dr. Alireza Shahidi’s visit to Tabas Geopark

Dr. Alireza Shahidi (Head of the Geological Survey of Iran and Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade) on the first day of his visit to Tabas, visited the Golshan Garden Geosite and the Tabas Geoheritage Museum.
Provincial and city officials, as well as the director of Tabas Geopark, attended the visit.
Golshan Garden Geosite is one of the most important and beautiful historical geosites and Tabas Geoheritage Museum as the first and largest specialized museum in the east of Iran.

Dr. Shahidi (Head of the Geological Survey of Iran and Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade) visited Kal-e-Jenny and Gabr House geosites in the north of Tabas.

Dr. Shahidi (Head of the Geological Survey of Iran and Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade) visited Ezmighan village, Khanik paddy fields geosite and Sabat eco-tourism residence.

Dr. Shahidi (Head of the Geological Survey of Iran and Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade) visited the geosites of the kalmard area (geosites of box folding, Permian-Triassic boundary, Rig-e-Shotoran, Cruziana, Asheghan mountain, Darin angular unconformity, Jowkhah Vegetative Sand Dunes and Kalmard caravanserai).
Dr. Ghaderi, President of the paleontological Iranian Association, and members of the Tabas Geopark were also present during the visit.

Dr. Shahidi (Head of the Geological Survey of Iran and Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade) visited the geosites of the historical context of Korit and Sepordani graves.
The historical context of Korit is one of the most important historical – cultural monuments of Tabas, which was destroyed by the Tabas earthquake in 1978.
