?️ Tabas Global Geopark is unique in terms of paleontology and life history on the planet, due to the existence of the most complete succession of rocks from the first geological period (Paleozoic) in Iran and West Asia. Also, many experts and thinkers consider this region as the geological paradise and fossil museum of Iran. Therefore, several studies by geological scientists of Iran and the world have been conducted in this area and some fossils have been discovered only from this area and have been introduced for the first time in the world under the name of Tabas and other local names.
?️The latest studies conducted by professors of paleontology at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Khorasan Azad University and Berlin Natural History Museum in 2019 and 2021 led to the discovery of two new species of fossils, called Maeneceras tabasense and Eoasianites baghevangensis from Tabas Global Geopark has been established.
?️The names of these two new fossil species are taken from the city of Tabas and Bagh-e-Vang Mountain in the north of Tabas.
