Chehel Payah Caravansary is located in the southernmost part of Tabas county and 300 km from the Tabas-Kerman road, and it can be accessed by a 14 km dirt road. The Caravansary building was built in a pristine and beautiful valley and its rocks date back to 70 to 145 million years ago. The presence of a brick kiln, water reservoir (Ab-Anbar) and a watch tower are important features of this caravansary. The Chehel Paya Caravansary belongs to the Safavid period, and it’s among the 54 registered Persian Caravansary s in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Also, it has been registered in the Iran National Heritage list with number 33158.
