Geosite of Kalmard Box Folding is one of the most unique and beautiful folds of the world in Tabas Geopark, which attracts the attention of every visitor, particularly geologists, in terms of dimensions, outcrop and surface of the outcrop, as well as the color variety of sedimentary layers. This geosite is located at a distance of 90 km from the old Tabas-Yazd road in Kalmard region and has been formed in calcareous-dolomitic rocks and sandstones 250-290 million years ago (Late Permian). Adjacent to this fold, the Ruz is one of the most elegant erosive formations in the Kalmard region and the geosite of the Permian-Triassic boundary.
