🔶️ The 30th August in Iran is named for one of the most beautiful animals in the world, namely the Iranian cheetah. National Day for the Protection of the Iranian Cheetah, an animal that is in danger of extinction and its protection, is very important.

🔸️ The Iranian cheetah (Asiatic cheetah) is the third known Asian feline to be endangered, and few of them are now found in Iran.

🔸️ The photo is related to one of the cheetahs in the geosite of the Naybandan Wildlife Refuge (south of Tabas UNESCO Global Geopark). This photo was taken by the Iranian Cheetah Society and was selected as the best camera trap photo in the world in the BBC WILDLIFE magazine competition in 2014.

🔸️ The Geosite of Naybandan Wildlife Refuge is the largest wildlife refuge in Iran and the largest habitat of the Iranian (Asiatic) cheetah.
